The EU provides lots of useful apps, we’ve highlighted those you should download today. All are free, most include all EU languages and are available for iOS and Android.
Travel app
This app provides help and advice for consumers across Europe. Areas covered include:
- Transport
- Accommodation
- Shopping
- Car hire
- Health issues
Via this app the EU Consumer Centres Network provides assistance in 25 languages about your rights for typical situations and relevant phrases in the language of your holiday destination.
The app works offline so you don’t have to worry about having a data connection.

Passenger rights
If you’re fed up of being fobbed off by airlines, one of the best apps to download is the EU Passenger Rights app available in 25 languages. Types of transport covered by the app:
- Air
- Rail
- Bus
- Boat
With info about delays, cancellations, lost luggage and more you can check your rights on the spot. The app uses a question/answer format to easily identify the problem and provide a clear explanation of your rights and the options available to you.
The app also works offline.
Driving abroad: rules, tips & tricks
If you’re going to be driving in other EU countries, check road safety rules before travelling.
As well as road traffic rules in the EU, the Going Abroad app also includes two games about road safety.
EU general info
Find out about events, exhibitions, training opportunities and more open to the public provided by the EU and partners in any country.
The EU In The World app is available in 6 languages, including English and Spanish.
Have your say on Europe
This website allows citizens to present their ideas, thoughts and opinions on what the EU should be. The objective is that the local level provides EU Institutions with feedback on the future of the EU. You’ll have to create an account in order to participate.
European Health Insurance Card
The app has been phased out, however full info is available here.
EU publications
Not an app, but a portal to find lots of free resources for all the family.
At the EU Publications portal you can find leaflets, posters, books, maps and resources for download or, in many cases, posted free to your home address.
Languages vary by product, check before ordering.
