Wondering how much your “old” stuff is worth? – Update
Take a look at ValueMyStuff.com, that has a team of specialists who have worked at major auction houses such as Sotheby’s or Christie’s. They were also the recipients of a £100,000 investment when they appeared on the BBC programme Dragon’s Den based on their business model. Their system is really easy, with just three steps:
- Upload as many photos of the article to be valued as you like, making sure to include all the photographic details you think the specialist could need to help with the valuation (such as stamps, signatures, etc.)
- Include a written description of the item.
- Add any other relevant information
Upon receiving the request, ValueMyStuff will assign an expert and you’ll get a valuation within 48 hours.
All of this comes for just 8.50€ per valuation (called credits), 22.50€ for three credits and 68€ for 10 credits. In January they have a special offer – buy 10 credits and you’ll get 3 credits free, just use code VMSJAN2012 when purchasing.
The service is also really useful if you’re thinking of selling on eBay – ValueMyStuff gives you an “eBay sticker” so that when people view your items on eBay, they can click on the button and see the online version of the valuation report and the valuation itself. Additionally they give you a unique web page link for each item, which you can use to share with other people. Soon they’ll be launching an eBay listing service.
ValueMyStuff covers most of the usual items that would need valuation, with only a few exceptions. So, get out what you thought was junk and get it valued today!
