Here at Money Saver Spain we’re totally against the old saying “if it ain’t broke why fix it?”. In fact, we’re all for innovation especially if it saves money as well. One of those areas in Spain that seems to be still stuck in the dark ages is the administration of housing communities and their communication system. There is still some confusion over the difference between phone numbers in Spain that start with 900, 901, 902 or 905 and their tariffs. Added to this is that many people have flat rate tariffs with either their home phone or mobile or both and, when being billed, are surprised to see add-ons that aren’t included in the flat rates. If you live in Madrid or Valencia and could really do with a new boiler then you’re in luck. New more efficient boilers have a high cost and even though the investment is recovered as reductions in your bills, this can take some time. Hence the cashback initiative which is still on-going in Madrid and Valencia aims to encourage people to change their boilers with a significant cash incentive.
