Cinema Festival in Spain 15-24 October
Given that cinemas have been hit by the 13% sales tax rise at the beginning of September this year, in order to boost visitors the “Fiesta del Cine” will be held across Spain in October. Additionally there’s a competition where you can win 52 double cinema tickets, giving you and a friend the chance to see a new film every week of the year.
On the official website for this event: fiestadelcine.com, you can find a full list of all cinemas that are taking part in this event, just choose your city. All you have to do is visit any participating cinema between 15 to 21 October and for each visit you’ll get a voucher so that from 22-24 October you can watch another film for only 2€ per visit. On the voucher you’ll have to fill in your name and ID number so it may be a good idea to fill it in later (in case you decide to give it to someone else). The voucher can be used at any of the cinemas taking part in the promotion, in other words you don’t need to return to the same cinema where you received it.
Tips
- For 3D films or other special events you may have to pay a supplement
- In the conditions for this promotion it states that you have to show some ID when using the voucher – so don’t forget to take it!
- If you’re under 31 make sure you use your Youth Card to get a reduced price on your ticket bought 15-21 October, however you won’t be able to get any further reduction on the 2€ tickets valid 22-24 October.
- You won’t be able to buy the 2€ tickets on the internet, as you need to show the voucher when you buy the ticket.
To take part in the competition, you’ll need a good level of Spanish as you have to draft a letter, poem or short story saying why you love the cinema and watching films on the big screen. Register online and submit your entry until 24 October, the draw takes place on 25 October.
